Default Singing Figure

Bob Simpson - June 16 - Most callers have a singing call figure that they default to when the pressure is on and the memory isn't what it should be. In mainstream it often is -- Hs Prom 1/2 , SQ4 , R&L thru, Veer left, Ferris Wheel, SQ3, Swg and Prom. Of course there are many many more. I'm curious what everyones favorite is. mainstream, Plus and A1-2. I would like to steal some of them from you.

Connie Graham Hs sq th 4, dosido, sw thru, b run, bend line, r and l thru fl wheel star thru sw and prom Roy Dutton Most commonly used figure ever, but most around here use slide thru.

Connie Graham True, but when brain dead! It's the one that stays in that old brain! LOL

Bill Powell Prom 1/2- sq 4- swing thru-boys run- Ferris wheel -sq 3-swing prom

Dan Clairmont Prom 1/2 - sq thru 4 - touch 1/4 - scoot back - boys run - slide thru- pass thru - trade by - swing corner and prom.

Joe Wrabek That is jy most common one. I use a lot: H/S sq 4, dosado 2 wave, swing thru boys run, bend line, right & left thru, flutterwheel, slide thru, swing & promenade. That's the figure choreo for my "Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad," but it works for a lot of sibging

Rod Shuping Most of the singing call figures have certain calls that can be substituted to make it "feel" different; a good example at Plus is replace Spin the Top with girls Fold and Peel the Top, Or replace Swing Thru with Single Circle and center Trade....... Replace Square Thru 3 with Slide Thru three times and on and on.....

Bo Nilsö Square Thru 4, dosido, swing thru five times, boys trade, swing promenade

Rick Hampton careful her Hds Lear R dosado Spin Chain Exchange- all 8 circulate swing prom ( if no commotion add hinge and scoot back for timing)

Wendy VanderMeulen If it's a MS group and they are really weak, I often use: SQ4, RLT, DIve Thru, SQ3, S, P. Throw in a DSD before the S,P if time permits.

Mike Callahan How about the old H's Sq4, Rt hand Star, heads left hand star, etc.

Lloyd Lewis Heads Promenade Half, Sides Square Thru 4, Right and Left Thru, Veer Left, Ferris Wheel, centers Veer Left, Crossfire, Walk & Dodge, Swing Corner, Promenade...

Steven Avery I remember doing a singing call and did heads square through 4, do si do (traditional) touch a quarter scoot back (several times) swing promenade. But I felt out the crowd before I did that because I didn't want to get people mad. I had several people come up to me afterwards chuckling about it. Again, you have to feel them out before doing something like that.

Glenn Anthony Wilson Yeah Steven, that and similar routines are those "once in a blue moon" calls. Nobody minds, but they don't want a steady diet of it.

Rod Barngrover Heads or Sides - Slide thru, square thru 3, left 1/4, walk and dodge, wheel around, flutter wheel, slide thru, swing & prom.

Jet Roberts Square thru, Dosido, Star thru, reverse flutter wheel, Dixie style to wave, girls circulate, Left Allemande, swing, promenade. Timing is perfect & a full promenade. (Say “back to back” Dosido to keep them from the arm around) makes the Star thru flow

Lloyd Lewis Heads Pass the Ocean; Extend; Swing Thru; Boys Run; Couples Circulate; Half Tag; Follow Your Neighbor & Spread; Swing (corner, etc.).

Kip Garvey Hds Pass Thru, Wheel Around, 1/2 Sashay, Slide Thru, Square Thru 2, Wheel Around, Dixie Style to Wave, Men Cross Fold, Swing, Prom

Ron Schneider Hds sq. 4, split outside two round make a line, tch 1/4 , 8 circ., girls run, turn thru, swing corner, prom.
